CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team lost a 9-0 decision to NCAA Division II foe Arkansas Tech at the Hatcher Tennis Center Wednesday night.

The visiting Golden Suns (2-1), who are ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II Central Region, swept the Warriors (4-2) in doubles to start the match.

Sophomores Lauren Mahaney and Julia Lefler had the closest match at the number two spot, falling to Tamara Bell and Camila Roca 8-6. Senior Hannah Smashey and freshman Sarah Walker lost to Laura Sanchez and Vandella Suico 8-3 in the the third flight.

In singles, Bell topped sophomore Pratheepa Ravikumar 6-2, 6-1 in the top matchup. Walker lost to Sanchez 6-3, 6-0 in the fourth spot and Lefler lost to Roca 6-4, 6-1 in the fifth flight.

The Warriors are off until Mar. 7 when they host Westminster College.
