CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team fell to Harding University on Saturday, dropping their match with the 36th-ranked team in NCAA Division II 9-0.
In doubles play,
Pratheepa Ravikumar and
Lauren Mahaney fell 8-0 to the third-ranked doubles team in NCAA Division II.
Hannah Smashey and
Laela Zaidi teamed at second doubles and pushed the Bisons to the limit before falling 8-6. At the third flight,
Sarah Walker and
Alexa Kiss dropped their match to the Harding pair 8-4.
Harding took all six singles flights without dropping a set. Zaidi and
Brenda Quintero each took three games off their opponents at the second and sixth flights, respectively, falling to identical 6-1, 6-2 defeats.Â
Hendrix moves to 2-1 on the season after winning both of their matches in the fall. The squad will face a pair of Arkansas rivals next weekend, taking on John Brown University on Friday and University of the Ozarks on Saturday.
