CONWAY, Ark. - After splitting a double-header on Saturday, the Hendrix College baseball team fell to Sewanee - The University of the South 11-1 in eight innings at Warrior Field.
The Tigers (4-1, 2-1 Southern Athletic Association) tallied 11 hits, while the Warriors (4-4, 1-2) were limited to five hits on the day.
Sewanee pounced on Warrior starter
Thomas Weber (0-2), who allowed three hits, two walks and hit a batter before being replaced by sophomore lefty
Colten Poellinger. The Tigers ended up with seven runs on five hits and an error in the first. Sewanee added two more runs in the fourth and the eighth.
The Warriors' only run came in the seventh when senior right fielder
Matt Simmons led off with a base hit up the middle and stole second. He moved to third on a base hit from sophomore third baseman
Spencer Summers.
Brady Newville followed with double play ground ball, scoring Simmons.
Hendrix Notes- At the plate, Weber extended his hit streak to eight games, dating back to last season, with a single in the first.

Wyatt Hogan recorded the only extra base hit for the Orange & Black with a double.
- Simmons went 2-for-3 at the plate and stole his third base on the year.

Grant Nunn fanned two batters and only allowed two base runners in three scoreless innings.
- Four freshmen made their debuts for the Warriors - center fielder

Brian Epstein.
Sewanee Notes- Ryan Tillman (1-0) earned the win, by allowing three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five scoreless innings.
- Center fielder Micahel Walker had two hits and three RBI. Jackson Cooper and Ben Clune each drov in a pair.
- Designated hitter Tony Dykes also recorded two hits.
- All 11 of the Tigers' hits were singles and all nine starters had at least one hit.
Up NextHendrix will travel back to the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville for a 1:30 p.m. game on Tuesday.
