Warriors Fall in Season Opener

CONWAY, Ark.  – The Hendrix College field hockey team played their season opener Tuesday at Warrior Field against Southern Athletic Association foe Rhodes College.
 
Junior Gabryele Pochron made 32 saves for the Warriors, but her efforts were not enough as Rhodes won 13-0. The 32 stops for Pochron, including a first half penalty stroke stop, were the second most in school history.
 
Hendrix Notes
- Junior Raychl Reger attempted the lone shot on goal for the Warriors
- Sophomore Bridget Umble made two defensive saves, tied for the second most in program history. The Lancaster, Pa. native moved into second in Hendrix' career defensive saves list with nine.
- Freshman Miya Loudermilk also made a defensive save, along with Umble's two, tying for the second most in program history.
- The 35 combined saves were the second most in program history.
- Pochron now has 495 career saves and trails Alyssa Havens' Warrior record of 511 by just 16.

Rhodes Notes
- Three Lynx scored hat tricks: Christina DiFelice, Georgie Wilkins and Lizzie Wood.
- DiFielice scored all three of her goals in the first half, including the first two of the game.
- Wilkins also added three first half goals, while all of Wood's tallies came in the second half.
- DiFielice also had an assist in the contest

The Warriors return to the field on Saturday when they face Wooster College in the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis.
