MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team battled Piedmont College to a 1-1 double overtime Saturday to kick off the Greg Volgas Memorial.

Jacob Warren scored his first career goal in the 19th minute on assists from freshman
Faraz Arif and junior
Ryan Stanowski, giving the Warriors (1-2-2) an early lead.
The Lions (1-1-1) tied it in the 55th minute when Chris Bible's corner kick found Griffin Giles, who scored.
Piedmont had a slight 21-18 edge in shots, but both teams only managed six on goal. The Lions took 16 corners to the Warriors' eight.
Hendrix Notes- The assists were the first of the year for Arif and Stanowski.

Jerry Thomeczek stopped five shots in his second double overtime game of the season. He has a 0.87 goals against average and 21 saves in three games.
Piedmont Notes - Kenneth Heartn recorded six saves in goal.
