ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Hendrix College volleyball team lost a pair of five-set matches at the Baden Invitational on Saturday. The Warriors (5-5) fell to DePauw University (5-3) 13-25, 23-25, 29-27, 25-13, 15-12, then lost to the host #8 Washington University in St. Louis (10-0) 18-25, 26-28, 25-13, 25-21, 16-14.
Against the Tigers, the Warriors won the first two sets, hitting .640 on 16 kills and no errors in the opener, then hitting .271 with 18 kills in the second. DePauw fought back with a 29-27 third set victory, then won the last two sets 25-13, 15-12.
Hendrix hit .196 with 62 kills, eight aces, 96 digs and five blocks. DePauw hit .199 with 53 kills, 109 aces, 79 digs and 13 blocks.
In the nightcap versus the Bears, the Warriors once again took the first two sets. WashU tied it up and eventually took the final set 16-14.
Hendrix hit .180 with 54 kills, five aces, 87 digs and three blocks. WashU hit .195 with 69 kills, five aces, 99 digs and 10 blocks.

MC Rogers recorded a double-double with 20 kills and 18 digs.

Lauren Petrisin and
Sara Dyslin each had 14 kills.

Leila Matsumoto had a career-high 26 digs and senior
Felicia Beeman came up with 20.
- Both setters posted double-doubles, with
Allison Gaia having 25 assists and 11 digs and
Holyn Duyck with 27 assists and 10 digs.
DePauw Notes- Lauren Falotico led DePauw with 17 kills and six blocks.
- Suzanne Peters added 14 kills and Elisabeth Wilson had 13 kills and eight blocks.
- Faith Rowles came up with 41 assists and 13 digs.
- Keely McGrath led the defense with 22 digs.
Hendrix Notes-
Bradi Ryan led the Warriors with 20 kills.
- Rogers had her third consecutive double-double with 14 kills and 15 digs.
- Dyslin posted 10 kills, seven digs and two blocks and was named to the all-tournament team.
- Duyck assisted 25 points and Gaia recorded 22 assists with 15 digs.
- Matsumoto had 23 digs as well.
Washington Notes- Caroline Dupont had 17 kills and hit .394 with five digs.
- Jackie Nelligan posted 15 kills and Alex Sheredy had 14 kills and 17 digs.
- Nkiru Udenze added 11 kills and 26 digs.
Up NextHendrix will return home for a match with UT Dallas on Friday night.
