MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College volleyball team cruised to a 25-21, 25-16, 25-17 victory over Rhodes College in their Southern Athletic Association at Mallory Gymnasium Wednesday night.
The Warriors (6-5, 1-0) used 17 kills and hit .273 in the first set to win by four. The Lynx (5-5, 0-1) struggled in set two, hitting -.079. Hendrix connected on 14 kills and hit .243 in the third.
For the match, the Warriors hit .208 with 41 kills, four aces, 56 digs and nine blocks. The Lynx hit .062 with 26 kills, three aces, 53 digs and seven blocks.
Hendrix Notes- Junior outside hitter
MC Rogers was just shy of a double-double with 11 kills and nine digs to go with two aces and two blocks.
- Freshman setter
Amber Melcher assisted 16 points and came up with a season-high nine digs.
- Sophomore
Sara Dyslin had eight kills and five blocks and sophomore
Bradi Ryan added eight kills as well.
- Sophomore right side
Lauren Petrisin hit .316 with seven kills and tallied a career-best five blocks.
- Junior libero
Leila Matsumoto led the back row with 16 digs.

Allison Gaia had 17 assists.
- Hendrix has defeated Rhodes in their last six meetings, dating back to 2013.
Rhodes Notes- August Bishop paced the Lynx with nine kills. Elasha Williams recorded six.
- Ana McMullen had 16 assists and 14 digs.
- Maraia Tremarelli led all players with 18 digs.
