ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team lost to Fontbonne University 5-1 on the road Sunday afternoon.

The host Griffins (2-5) jumped out to an early lead when Brendan Kopff scored just 1:18 in. Matt Rapisardo added another goal a little over two minutes later to give Fontbonne a 2-0 advantage. Corey Schmidt added another goal in the 31st minute.

The Warriors (1-5-2) scored in the 37th minute on a goal by sophomore midfielder Dalton Clement and an assist by senior Jacob Pierce.

Fontbonne added two more goals in the second half.

The Griffins outshot the Warriors 28-9 and 11-5 on goal. Both teams took five corner kicks.

Hendrix Notes
- The goal was the first in Clement's career.
- Pierce recorded his fourth career assist.
- Jerry Thomeczek recorded six saves in goal. He ranks third in the Southern Athletic Association with 27 on the year.
- Freshman forward Faraz Arif attempted a shot on goal.

Fontbonne Notes
- Schmidt had two goals in the game.
- Kopff and Rapisardo each had a goal and an assist
- Keeper Tony Pitaro stopped four shots.
