ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team lost to Fontbonne University 5-1 on the road Sunday afternoon.
The host Griffins (2-5) jumped out to an early lead when Brendan Kopff scored just 1:18 in. Matt Rapisardo added another goal a little over two minutes later to give Fontbonne a 2-0 advantage. Corey Schmidt added another goal in the 31st minute.
The Warriors (1-5-2) scored in the 37th minute on a goal by sophomore midfielder
Dalton Clement and an assist by senior
Jacob Pierce.
Fontbonne added two more goals in the second half.
The Griffins outshot the Warriors 28-9 and 11-5 on goal. Both teams took five corner kicks.
Hendrix Notes- The goal was the first in Clement's career.
- Pierce recorded his fourth career assist.

Jerry Thomeczek recorded six saves in goal. He ranks third in the Southern Athletic Association with 27 on the year.

Up NextHendrix will open SAA competition in Memphis, Tenn. on Saturday against Rhodes College.
