GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Hendrix College women's soccer team came up with their fifth shutout of the season by defeating Southwestern University 1-0 on the road Friday afternoon.

The Warriors (6-2-1) scored the only goal of the game in the 15th minute when freshman forward Evie Cannon crossed a pass to senior forward Samantha Lallas who netted her eighth goal of the year.

The Warriors outshot the Pirates (3-5-1) 15-13 overall, but SU had a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal. Hendrix took five corner kicks, compared to four for Southwestern.

The game was delayed by lightning for nearly an hour in the first half.

Hendrix Notes
- Sophomore Jordan Rausch had five saves in front of the net for Hendrix.
- The backline of Symone Bennett, Ashley Baker, Maddie Mae Seyer and Amanda Hamilton with reserves Melissa Miller and Caroline Hochstein posted the fifth shutout of the season for the Warriors.
- Cannon's assist was the second of the season.
- Lallas' goal puts her in third in the Southern Athletic Association this season. Teammate Lucy Moore is first in the league with 10 goals.

Southwestern Notes
- Kylie Hunt had two saves in goal for the Pirates.
- SU also recorded a team save.
- Kirsten Mazur took three shots, two on goal.
