SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Hendrix College field hockey team lost a Southern Athletic Association game to Sewanee - The University of the South 4-1 on Sunday.
The host Tigers (6-0, 2-0) scored a goal late in the first half when Emma Horgan found the cage on an assist from Katie Wilson in the 30th minute. Sewanee scored on a penalty corner to open the second period then Horgan added another goal in the 39th minute. Horgan assisted Wilson's goal in the 46th minute.
The Warriors (2-7, 1-3) got on the board in the 63rd minute on
Raychl Reger's fifth goal of the year. Sophomore
Vanessa Jasso assisted the score.
Sewanee outshot Hendrix 15-6 overall and 10-3 on goal. The Tigers held an 11-6 advantage in penalty corners.
Hendrix Notes- Reger's goal was the 19th of her career which ties her with Abby Coleman (2007-10) for third on the Warriors' career list. Reger is now three away from tying the career record.
