ELMHURST, Ill. - The Hendrix College volleyball team ended the first day of the Elmhust Volleyball Invitational with a 25-18, 20-25, 25-15, 25-22 victory over UMass Boston on Friday evening.
The Warriors (3-1) connected on 15 kills in the first set, while the Beacons (0-2) only had eight, en route to a 25-18 win. After UMass Boston took the second set, Hendrix dominated the third set, winning 25-15. The Orange & Black added 14 more kills and hit .265 in the decisive fourth set.
The Warriors hit .156 with 44 kills, nine aces, 44 digs and six blocks. The Beacons managed to hit just .197 on 33 kills, nine aces, 43 digs and nine blocks.
Hendrix Notes- Three Warriors recorded double-digit kills, with sophomore
Bradi Ryan blasting 11 to go with four blocks.

Lauren Petrisin each had 10 kills.

Sara Dyslin added eight kills and hit .333 with three blocks.

Amber Melcher led the setters with 17 assists. Juniors
Holyn Duyck and
Allison Gaia assisted 10 and 9 points, respectively.

Leila Matsumoto led the back row with 12 digs.
UMass Boston Notes- Eileen Shi had six kills and 10 digs to pace the Beacons.
- Haley Diedrick added six kills, seven digs and six blocks.
- Coleen Koen also had six kills and Julia Murphy recorded six blocks.
- Rachel Maslach added 12 assists.
Up NextHendrix will wrap up the Elmhurst Invitational Saturday with a 10 a.m. match against North Park University, followed by a noon tilt with #24 UW-Whitewater.
