MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Fighting to a double-overtime draw in their season opener, Hendrix College men's soccer looked to build off that performance Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors (0-1-1) were able to keep Huntingdon College (1-1-0) off the board in the first half, but two goals in a ten minute span in the second period brought the score to 2-0 in favor of the Hawks.
Senior
Jerry Thomeczek started his second straight game in goal for the Warriors and made eight saves. Senior
Jacob Pierce and junior
Ryan Stanowski both recorded a shot on goal for Hendrix.
Hendrix had six shots, with two on goal and were able to earn two corner kicks. Huntingdon shot the ball 20 times with 10 on goal, while earning nine corners.
Hendrix Notes- Warriors opened the season with a scoreless streak of 160:27.
- Thomeczek's eight saves tied his career high from the opener against Ozarks.
- Pierce and Stanowski both recorded their first shots-on-goal of the season.
- Six shots is a season high for the Warriors.
- Pierce also had another shot attempt.
