ResultsBIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Hendrix College swimming & diving teams returned from winter break with a duel against Southern Athletic Association foe Birmingham-Southern College at the Birmingham CrossPlex Natatorium Friday afternoon.
The host Panthers won the women's duel 96-75 and took the men's 112-79.
Freshman
Journey Eubank won the women's 100 yard breaststroke in 1:16.80. Sophomore
Bailey Price won the men's 1-meter diving with a score of 159.45.
The Birmingham CrossPlex will be the home to the 2016 SAA Championships Feb. 10-13.
Hendrix Women's Notes- The 400 yard medley relay team of
Christine Gozdalski, Eubank,
Caroline Forbes and
Claire De Pree finished fourth in 4:31.33.
- Forbes, a senior, finished second in the 50 free in 26.21.
- Freshman
Emily Horelica was fourth in the 50 free in 27.37 seconds. She also finished third in the 500 freestyle in 6:02.28.
- Senior
Kate Henricks placed third in the 1000 freestyle with a mark of 13:37.81.

Haley Whitson, freshman, took fifth in the 200 individual medley in 2:27.67.
- Sophomore
Sydney Lacey was first among countable swimmers in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:06.62.
- De Pree was also first among countable scorers with a time of 1:01.89 in the 100 free.
- Freshman Gozdalski swam the 100 yard backstroke in 1:06.58, good for second place. Whitson was just behind in 1:08.19, finishing third.
- Forbes, Whitson, Horelica and Gozdalski were first among countable teams in the 800 freestyle relay in 8:52.54.
Hendrix Men's Notes- The 400 yard medley relay team of
Andrew Fogg,
Connor Griffin,
Nicolas Maynard and
Austin Davis placed third in 4:33.28.
- Sophomore
Brandon Cathey took fourth in the 200 IM with a season-best mark of 2:14.22. He was first among scoring swimmers in the 100 butterfly in 57.77.
- Junior
Chris Griffin was fourth in the 200 freestyle at 2:01.10. He was first among scorers in the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.06, a season-best time in the event.
- Senior
Eric Mullins swasm the 50 free in 24.72 seconds, finishing fifth. He was also first among countable swimmers in the 100 free in 55.66.
- Junior
Troy Koser took fifth with a time of 1:01.28 in the 100 yard backstroke.

Chris Griffin, Mullins, Koser and Cathey were first of the scoring teams in the 800 freestyle relay at 8:14.33.
Up NextHendrix will travel to Elsah, Ill. to face Principia College in a duel on Jan. 22.
