CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team suffered a 75-71 loss to Berry College in Southern Athletic Association play Friday night at Grove Gymnasium.
The Warriors (1-15, 0-5) jumped out to an 11-0 lead over the first three minutes of the game. The Warriors led 25-15 with 9:27 to play, but the Vikings (7-8, 4-1) end the period on on 26-11 run to take a 41-36 lead into the break.
Berry led 66-61 with 2:29 to play, but a pair of free throws from freshman guard Ryan Bray and jumper from senior guard
Drew Nikolovski cut the Hendrix deficit to one with 1:47 left. The Vikings held off the Warriors by scoring the next seven points, extending their lead to 73-65 with 16 seconds on the clock. A three-pointer by junior
Aaron Steele with 10 seconds left made the game 73-68, but Berry's Nick Marder hit a pair of free throws five seconds later. Nikolovski hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to make the final score 75-71.
For the game, Hendrix shot 36.5 percent (23-of-63) from the field, 12-of-36 from three-point range and 13-of-20 at the line. Berry shot 40 percent (20-of-50) overall, 6-of-15 from outside and 29-of-42 in free throw attempts. The Vikings had a 45-35 rebound advantage.
The Warriors committed a season-low eight turnovers and broke the school record with 11 blocked shots, breaking the old mark of 10 set last season against Rhodes.

John Ogle led Hendrix with 18 points, nine boards and a career-high three blocks.

Berry Notes- Center Owen Jacobs came up with seven points and 11 rebounds. He passed the 1,000-point milestone in the game and now has 1,002 in his career.
- Lee McCloud led Berry with 18 points to go with six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
- Blake Scherrman had 14 points.
- Caleb Johnson had eight points and six boards.
- Alton McCloud finished with six points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.
