Swimming & Diving Out-Duels Principia

ELSAH, Ill. - For the third straight year, the Hendrix College swimming & diving team topped Principia College in a duel. The Warrior men won eight of the 12 events and defeated the Panthers 120-65. The Hendrix women took first in seven events en route to a 105-87 win.

The Warriors set several season and career bests marks in the duel.

Hendrix Men's Highlights
- Sophomore Brandon Cathey won the 200 yard freestyle in 2:00.37 and the 50 yard butterfly with a personal best time of 25.12.
- Eric Mullins, a senior, took second with a mark of 24.76 in the 50 freestyle. He was also second in the 50 backstroke in 30.31, a personal best mark.
- Junior Troy Koser won the 500 freestyle in 5:30.56 and finished second in the 100 yard inidvidual medley in 1:02.10.
- Chris Griffin, a junior, won the 50 yard breaststroke in 30.85 seconds and took second in 54.10 seconds in the 100 free.
- Sophomore Bailey Price won the 1-meter diving with a score of 157.20.
- Freshman Liam Edwards had the high score on the 3-meter board with a score of 141.55.
- The 200 yard medley relay team of Koser, Griffin, Cathey and Mullins took first with a time of 1:46.80.
- Andrew Fogg, Austin Davis, Connor Griffin and Nicolas Maynard won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:47.89.

Hendrix Women's Highlights
- Freshman Emily Horelica finished first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:11.98.
- Eberle Yarborough, a freshman, recorded a season-best time of 27.76 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle, winning the race.
- Freshman Christine Gozdalski also had a season-best mark in the 100 yard individual medley, placing first in 1:06.57. She also won the 50 backstroke in 30.87.
- Senior Caroline Forbes finished second in the 50 yard butterfly in 29.38 seconds.
- Freshman Haley Whitson won the 500 freestyle with a season-best time of 5:51.90.
- Whitson, Yarborough, Sydney Lacey and Horelica won the 200 medley relay in 2:05.63.
- Forbes, Horelica, Yarborough and Gozdalski also won the 200 free relay in 1:49.14
