CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team fell to Birmingham-Southern College 75-63 at Grove Gymnasium Sunday in a match-up between the top two teams in the Southern Athletic Association.
The host Warriors (15-4, 6-2) entered Sunday's game in first place, but the Panthers (16-2, 6-2) are now tied with the Orange & Black with six games left in the regular season.
Hendrix jumped out to a 19-10 lead in the first quarter, but BSC used a 7-0 run to make the game 19-17 at the end of the opening period. The Warriors were up by four early in the second when the Panthers used a 14-2 rally to gain an eight-point advantage with 2:24 left in the half before taking a 37-34 lead into the break.
BSC led the entire second half, but Hendrix got within a point several times. The Panthers led 60-59 with 7:17 left before outscoring the Warriors 15-4 the rest of the way.
For the game, Hendrix shot 38.5 percent (20-of-52) from the field, 6-of-20 from outside and 17-of-21 from the line. BSC shot 44.4 percent (24-of-54) overall, 5-of-15 from behind the arc and 22-of-29 at the free throw line. The Warriors held a 36-32 rebound advantage.
Hendrix Notes- Sophomore center
Sara Dyslin led the Warriors with 22 points and eight rebounds. She was 8-of-8 at the free throw line.

Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler had 16 points, seven boards and five assists.
- Junior guard
Hailey Bode scored eight points on 3-of-3 shooting to go with a pair of assists and a pair of steals.
- Senior guard
Estrella Flores netted five points off the bench with two steals.
- Sophomore forward
Heather Prowse pulled down seven rebounds
Birmingham-Southern Notes- Guard Jasmynn Batts paced the Panthers with 22 points and three steals.
- Yorisha Bryant recorded 19 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks.
- Halle Knowles finished with six points and five assists.
- Jameice Holmes added nine points
Up NextHendrix will go on the road to face Berry College in Mount Berry, Ga. on Friday.
