FERRUM, Va. - The Hendrix College field hockey team tied the program goals record in a 9-0 victory against Sweet Briar College Thursday night.
The Warriors (3-8) also tied the assists record with six for a new points record of 24. Hendrix also had nine goals against Trine on Oct. 15, 2010 and six assists against Sweet Briar on Sept. 11, 2011.
Sophomore midfielder
Holly Heeb scored three goals and three assists, breaking the school record in assists. Her nine points are the second most in program history as well.
The Warriors outshot the Vixens (0-9) 31-0 overall and had 23 shots on goal. The Orange & Black also had 11 penalty corner opportunities.
Hendrix Notes
- Heeb's three goals were also a personal best.
- Senior defender
Raychl Reger recorded two goals and an assist. She leads the team with nine goals.
- Sophomore
Madeline Neely added a goal and an assist.
- Freshmen
Grace Shapiro and
Mary Ingabire both had a goal. They each have four for the season.
- After playing in goal the first half, senior
Gabryele Pochron played in the field in the second and scored a goal, the first of her career.
- Junior midfielder
Bridget Umble also recorded an assist.
Sweet Briar Notes
- Emily Dodson had 12 saves in goal.
- Kiley Jolicoeur posted two defensive saves.
