RICHARDSON, Texas - The #24 Hendrix College volleyball team lost 19-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-11 to #5 Southwestern University on Saturday afternoon in a battle of top 25 squads.
The Warriors (21-6) took the first two sets, but the Pirates (28-3) rebounded to win the final three frames.
For the match Hendrix hit .171 with 60 kills, five aces, 111 digs and 11 blocks. Southwestern hit .159 with 67 kills, four aces, 111 digs and seven blocks.
Hendrix Notes
- Junior middle blocker
Sara Dyslin tied her career-high with 18 kills and her season-best with seven total blocks.
- Freshman
Lauren Dwyer recorded her seventh double-double fo the year with 15 kills and 17 digs to go with two aces.
- Junior right side
Lauren Petrisin connected on 11 kills.
- Senior outside hitter
MC Rogers had six kills, 15 digs, two aces and four blocks.
- Senior setter
Allison Gaia had her 11th double-double of the year with 29 assists and a career-high 19 digs.
- Sophomore setter
Amber Melcher also had a double-double with 22 assists and a season-best 16 digs.
- Sophomore
Brianna Kelly posted a career-high 34 digs in her first start at libero.
Southwestern Notes
- Kate Mitchell led the Pirates with 17 kills.
- Landri Brown connected on 14 kills.
- Kirby Kincannon had 11 kills and six blocks.
- Nikki Welch recorded 57 assists and 12 digs.
- Andie Alford had 30 digs and Megan Grimes 20.
