Lynx Hand Warriors First SAA Loss

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The #20 Hendrix College volleyball team suffered their first Southern Athletic Association loss of the season at Rhodes College Wednesday night. The host Lynx (7-8, 3-5) topped the Warriors (12-5, 7-1) 14-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-11.

Hendrix took the first set easily, hitting .343 with 17 kills. Rhodes rebounded by jumping out to a big lead in the second set and maintained throughout.

The Lynx led 20-19 in the third, before winning five of the last eight points to take the set by three points. Rhodes started with a 9-1 advantage in the fourth set and Hendrix could not catch up.

For the match, the Warriors hit .158 with 51 kills, six aces, 74 digs and two blocks. The Lynx hit .277 with 49 kills, six aces, 63 digs and eight blocks.

Hendrix Notes
- Senior outside hitter MC Rogers had season-highs with 16 kills and 14 digs for her second double-double of the season.
- Junior middle blocker Sara Dyslin recorded 11 kills.
- Freshman outside Lauren Dwyer tallied 10 kills and 14 digs for her third double-double of the year.
- Senior setter Allison Gaia recorded 30 assists, a season-best, and 10 digs for her fourth double-double this year.
- Sophomore Amber Melcher had a season-best 16 assists and 11 digs. It was the third double-double of her career.
- Senior Leila Matsumoto recorded 16 digs.

Rhodes Notes
- Elasha Williams hit .391 with 10 kills to lead the Lynx.
- Ellen Platt also had 10 kills and nine digs.
- Hannah McCarty recorded 25 assists and 12 digs.
- Lulu Schulz tallied seven blocks.
