Warriors Defeat Golden Eagles 6-3 in Fall Finale

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team wrapped up the fall schedule with a 6-3 win at John Brown University Saturday morning.

The Warriors (2-0) earned two doubles victories to start the match. Seniors Julia Lefler and Lauren Mahaney defeated Jessie Alexander and Julia McNeil 8-4 at the top spot. Senior Pratheepa Ravikumar and freshman Rebecca Sherman took down Taylor Russell and Eva Berry 9-7 at number two.

Hendrix also won the top four singles matches against the Golden Eagles (0-1). Lefler won over Alexander 6-1, 6-0 at number one and Ravikumar had a 6-2, 6-2 victory over McNeil in the second spot. Mahaney downed Russell 6-3, 6-1 in number three and Sherman beat Clare Holden 6-2, 6-0 at number four.

The Warriors will resume their season on Feb. 8 when they host Harding.
