JACKSON, Miss. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team lost 89-40 to Austin College on the final day of the SCAC-SAA Challenge Sunday.
The Warriors (0-3) shot only 25 percent (4-of-16) from the field in the first half, while the Kangaroos (1-2) shot 42.1 percent (16-of-38) to take a 44-15 lead at the break. Austin extended their lead to as many as 49 in the second period.
For the game, Hendrix shot 30 percent (12-of-40) from the floor, 2-of-14 from three-point range and 14-of-33 at the free throw line. They also recorded 35 rebounds, five assists, 11 turnovers, two blocks and three steals. Austin shot 41.6 percent (32-of-77), 4-of-14 from outside, 21-of-25 at the line with 51 boards, nine assists, seven turnovers, one block and three steals.
