JACKSON, Miss. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team lost 79-62 to Austin College on the final day of the SCAC-SAA Challenge on Sunday.
The Warriors (1-2) led 20-19 after the first quarter, but trailed 37-31 at half. A three-pointer by sophomore guard
Leah Boehl to start the third quarter cut the Kangaroos' (2-1) lead to three, but Austin pulled away to lead 60-47 at the end of the period. The 'Roos scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter to expand their advantage to 23 points.
For the game, Hendrix shot 34.3 percent (23-of-67) from the field, 6-of-30 from outside and 10-of-17 at the free throw line. They had 34 rebounds, 13 assists, 16 turnovers, one block and 11 steals. Austin shot 53.2 percent (33-of-62) from the floor, 8-of-21 from the three-point line and 5-of-7 at the stripe with 39 rebounds, 17 assists, 19 turnovers, four blocks and nine steals.

- Junior center
Madison Martin recorded her second consecutive double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
- Junior forward
Heather Prowse had a season-best 14 points, with eight rebounds - seven of which were offensive, and three steals.
- Boehl scored a career-high 13 points.
- Senior guard
Hailey Bode added 11 points, five boards, three assists and tied her career-best with four steals.
Austin Notes
- Bryce Frank led the 'Roos with 28 points on 13-of-18 shooting to go with three steals.
- Kendall Heitmeier scored 12 points.
- Meghan Lewis had 11 points, nine boards and four assists.
