CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team survived a comeback effort from the University of the Ozarks to win 74-65 at Grove Gymnasium Tuesday night.
The host Warriors (2-2) jumped out to a 23-8 lead after shooting 60 percent (9-of-15) in the first quarter. The Orange & Black led the Eagles (2-2) 39-24 at halftime. Hendrix expanded their lead to as many as 27 late in the third quarter and led 62-37 headed into the final period. Ozarks outscored Hendrix 28-12 in the fourth quarter, shooting 55.6 percent (10-of-18) while the home team went cold, making just 15.4 percent (2-of-13) of their baskets in the final period. Hailey Bode made three-of-four free throw attempts in the final seconds to hold on to the win.
For the game, the Warriors shot 43.3 percent (26-of-60) from the field, 7-of-19 from three-point range and 15-of-24 from the free throw line. They also had 35 rebounds, 19 assists, nine turnovers, two blocks and nine steals. The Eagles shot 38.7 percent (24-of-62) overall, 6-of-16 from outside and 11-of-16 from the line with 41 boards, 16 assists, 15 turnovers, seven blocks and five steals.

Madison Martin scored 19 points with four rebounds to lead the Warriors.

Sara Dyslin recorded 14 points, seven boards, a block and three steals in her first game of the season.

Leah Boehl netted 12 points with a career-high five assists and two steals.

Amber Turner chipped in nine points with a pair of steals.

Heather Prowse registered seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

- Bryanna Moltz led the Eagles with 20 points and three blocks with five rebounds and two steals.
- Hailey Ostrander scored 15 points.
- Rose Robinson added 10 points and five boards off the bench.
- Diamond Goodwyn grabbed eight rebounds and Bailey Womack dished out four assists.
