CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team overcame a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Austin College 55-52 at Grove Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Kangaroos (2-3) led 52-46 with 5:13, but the Warriors (3-2) scored the final nine points of the game, eight of which game from junior center
Sara Dyslin. The San Jose, Calif. product hit a lay-up and a pair of free throws to cut the lead to 52-50 at the 4:03 mark. Another jumper from Dyslin tied it up with 1:22 left. After a missed three-pointer by Austin, Dyslin scored the go-ahead basket with 25.4 seconds left. Another missed shot by the 'Roos and a rebound by Dyslin led to senior guard
Hailey Bode sealing the game with a free throw at 8.3 seconds left.
Austin started the game with a 14-2 lead halfway through the first quarter, but Hendrix finished the opening frame with 10-0 run. The 'Roos led 29-27 at halftime. The teams exchanged nine lead changes and six ties throughout the contest.
The Warriors shot 40.8 percent (20-of-49) from the field, 2-of-13 from three-point range and 13-of-17 at the free throw line. They also had 45 rebounds, 14 assists, 18 turnovers, five blocks and five steals. The 'Roos shot 31.3 percent (21-of-67) overall, 6-of-20 from outside and 4-of-8 at the stripe with 33 boards, 17 assists, eight turnovers, two blocks and 12 steals.

- Dyslin led the Warriors with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting, with 13 rebounds and three blocks.
