MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College women's basketball rallied to defeat Rhodes College 56-53 in double overtime to win their Southern Athletic Association opener Wednesday night.
The host Lynx (1-3, 0-1) led the Warriors (4-2, 1-0) most of the first half and took a 25-17 lead into halftime. Rhodes maintained their lead until 2:19 left in the fourth quarter when the Warriors tied it up 43-43 on a basket from senior guard

Heather Prowse put Hendrix up 30 seconds later, but Rhodes tied it up on their next possession and the game was tied 45-45 at the end of regulation.
The Lynx went up 50-46 half way through the first overtime. The Warriors cut the lead to one with 1:21 left after a three-point play from junior center
Sara Dyslin. Prowse tied it again with one of two free throws with 51 seconds left.
The Orange & Black scored the first five points of the second overtime, including a three-pointer by freshman guard
Amber Turner, to lead 56-51 at the 2:20 mark. Sara Giesen hit a pair of free throw for Rhodes with 45 seconds left to cut their deficit to three and the Warriors held on for the win.
For the game, Hendrix shot 25.7 percent (19-of-74) from the field, 5-of-29 from three-point range and 13-of-21 at the line. They also had 54 rebounds, 18 of which were offensive, 15 assists, 16 turnovers, three blocks and eight steals. Rhodes shot 32.8 percent (22-of-67) overall, 2-of-7 from outside and 7-of-12 at the line with 53 rebounds, 15 assists, 17 turnovers, seven blocks and six steals.

- The win was the Warriors' first victory in double overtime since Dec. 30, 2002.
- Dyslin led Hendrix with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
- Prowse finished with 10 points, a season-high nine rebounds and a pair of steals.
- Turner scored 10 points off the bench to go with five boards and four assists.

Leah Boehl registered six points and four assists and career-highs with six rebounds and four steals.

Madison Martin had five points and eight rebounds.

- LaKyia Parker had 10 points off the bench.
