CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team lost to Trinity University 69-56 in the Cliff Garrison Classic at Grove Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Tigers (6-0), who are receiving votes in the national Top 25 polls, led 36, 24 at halftime. They led by as many as 16 early in third quarter. Â The Warriors (4-3) came as close as eight points down early in the fourth.
For the game, Hendrix shot 29.3 percent (17-of-58) from the field, 5-of-25 from outside and 17-of-20 at the free throw line (85 percent). They also had 36 rebounds, 11 assists, 16 turnovers, a block and six steals. Trinity shot 51.1 percent (24-of-47) overall, 6-of-14 from outside and 15-of-18 at the line with 29 rebounds, 17 assists, 18 turnovers, two blocks and nine steals.
Hendrix Notes
- Junior center
Sara Dyslin led the Warriors with 16 points and a season-high 16 rebounds, nine of which were on the offensive end. She also recorded two assists and a pair of steals.
- Junior forward
Heather Prowse added 14 points, two assists, a block and a steal.
- Senior guard
Hailey Bode added eight points with two steals.
- Sophomore guard
Leah Boehl recorded six points and four assists.
Trinity Notes
- The Tigers were led by Monica Holguin with 21 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
- Mollie Hughes scored 20 points.
- Abby Holland added 13 points.
