CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team lost to Sewanee - The University of the South 66-57 in Southern Athletic Association action Friday night.
Before the game, Hendrix honored their senior class -
Jordan Barrett,
Bruce Baker,
John Ogle and
Drew Nikolovski.
The Warriors (3-19, 2-9) had a 16-9 lead with 10:23 remaining in the first half, but the Tigers (15-7, 8-3) ended the period on a 19-9 run to lead 28-25 at the break.
Sewanee led the entire second half and were up 59-49 with 1:33 to play. Back-to-back buckets by freshman point guard
Preston Smith and another by Nikolovski cut the deficit to 59-55 at the 1:05 mark.
With Hendrix forced to foul in the final minute, Sewanee 5-for-6 at the free throw line down the stretch to secure the win.
For the game, Hendrix shot 36.8 percent (21-of-57) from the floor, 6-of-23 from three-point range and 9-of-15 at the stripe. Sewanee shot 42.9 percent (24-of-56) overall, 5-of-13 from outside and 13-of-21 at the free throw line. The Tigers also had a 40-36 rebound advantage.
Hendrix Notes- Smith led the Warriors with 12 points, four assists and three steals.
- Nikolovski finished with nine points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a pair of blocks.

Ryan Brady dished out four assists off the bench.

Luke Murphey scored five points off the bench as well.
Sewanee Notes- Jacob McCullough led the Tigers with 17 points and six assists.
- Keshonn Carter recorded 15 points, nine boards, five assists and five blocked shots.
- Cody Jones added 14 points.
- Brody Stone recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Up NextHendrix will take on Centre College in the final home game of the season Sunday afternoon.
