TEXARKANA, Texas - The Hendrix College women's tennis team moved to 3-1 on the season with a 7-2 win at Texas A&M University-Texarkana Saturday.
The Warriors took two of the three doubles matches to start the day. Top flight junior tandem
Julia Lefler and
Lauren Mahaney defeated Daejia Lynch and Natalie Keylon 8-3. Junior
Pratheepa Ravikumar and sophomore
Laela Zaidi topped Sarah Wilbanks and Ashleigh Finley 8-2 in number two doubles.
Hendrix also took five singles matches, starting at the top with Lefler downing Lynch 6-3, 6-2. At the second spot, Ravikumar defeated Keylon 6-4, 6-2.
Mahaney won her number three match over Wilbanks 6-0, 6-2 and Zaidi defeated Finley 6-1, 6-1 in the fourth match. Sophomore
Sarah Nieman defeated Haley Lofton 6-3, 7-5 at the sixth spot.
Hendrix will return to the court Friday when they host John Brown University.
