CONWAY, Ark. - After winning the first two games of the series on Saturday, the Hendrix College baseball team lost to Washington University 9-1 at Warrior Field Sunday afternoon.
The Warriors (2-5) committed six errors and were outhit by the Bears (1-2) 11-7.
Wash. U. started the contest with a three-run inning. Second baseman Ben Browdy had the big hit in the frame with a two-run double down the right field line. Browdy knocked in another run on a sacrifice fly in the second to go up 4-0.
Hendrix' only run came in the second when sophomore center fielder Drew Judso was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. He stole second then scored on a base hit from junior designated hitter
Harley Faye.
The Bears took advantage of an error in the seventh to go up 5-1. They added four runs on six hits in the eighth.
Wash. U. starter Julian Clarke (1-0) earned the win, allowing five hits, one run, one walk and struck out one over six innings. Senior
Will Nichol (0-1) took the loss. He struck out two and gave up five hits, three earned runs and a walk over seven frames.
Hendrix Notes- Freshman second baseman
Jorge Leon extended his hitting streak to five games with a base hit. He also drew walk.

Matthew Lillard and Faye both recorded two hits.

Tanner Cooper and sophomore catcher each had singles as well.

Aidan Abueva drew a pinch hit walk in the ninth. Freshman
Josh Walker was hit by a pitch in his only plate appearance in the ninth.
Washington Notes- Browdy finished with two hits and three RBI.
- Shortstop Austin Darmawan had two hits, including a double, stole a base, and scored twice.
- Left fielder Scott Nelson was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three steals.
- Spencer Egly hit a two-run triple.
Up NextHendrix will travel to Clarksville, Ark. on Tuesday to face the University of the Ozarks.
