CONWAY, Ark. - For the fourth straight year, the Hendrix College baseball team has won the Southern Athletic Association series against Rhodes College. After splitting a double-header Saturday, the Warriors (4-7, 2-1) took the rubber match from the #7/#11 Lynx (6-7, 1-2) 5-3 in Memphis Sunday afternoon.
Hendrix scored in the first and second to go up 2-0 early. Freshman third baseman
Jorge Leon reached on error to lead off the game. After a
Drew Judson single and a ground out, Leon scored from third on a
Wyatt Hogan single. In the second, junior designated hitter
Harley Faye led off with a double and was knocked in by freshman shortstop
Tanner Cooper with a double down the right field line.
The game remained 2-0 until Rhodes tied it up in the bottom of the seventh. Center fielder Levi Greenberg and catcher Marcus Moreland both hit a solo home run in the frame.
The Warriors regained the lead with a pair of runs in the eighth. Leon led off with an infield single and Judson's sacrifice bunt resulted in an error, allowing Leon to reach third. Sophomore catcher
Justin Robison brought Leon home with ground ball. Hogan followed with a single to left, plating Judson.
Hendrix added an insurance run in the ninth when Cooper led off with a single, moved to second on a passed ball and scored on a base hit to center by sophomore first baseman
Jake Wiegand.
Rhodes scored the final run in the bottom of the ninth when Ryan Olive walked and scored on a Levin Greenberg base hit.

Will Nichol (1-1) earned the win, allowing four hits, two runs and three walks over seven innings. He also struck out seven, one off his career high. Freshman
Taylor Barker allowed a run and two walks while fanning two over two innings to pick up his second save of the year. Rhodes reliever Jack Mercer (0-2) took the loss.
Hendrix Notes- The Warriors outhit the Lynx 10-5.
- Cooper expanded his hitting streak to seven games by going 2-for-3. He had a double, walk, RBI and scored a run.
- Judson went 2-for-4 for his sixth multiple-hit game of the year.
- Hogan also recorded two hits with two RBI.
- Leon singled and scored twice.
Rhodes Notes- Greenberg was 2-for-3 with the home run and two RBI.
- Moreland also had a pair of hits, with the home run.
Up NextHendrix will face in-town rival Central Baptist College at Warrior Field Tuesday at 4 p.m.
