MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Hendrix men's basketball team won for the second time in their last three contests with a 65-62 win over Berry College in Southern Athletic Association action Friday night.
The Warriors (3-17, 2-7) jumped out to 20-4 lead over the first eight minutes of the game. The Vikings (7-12, 4-5) pushed the rest of the first half and would cut the deficit to 35-29 headed into the break.
Hendrix led 42-33 with 16:44 to play, but Berry went on a 18-8 run to take a 51-50 advnatge with just under 10 minutes to play. From there the teams exchanged five lead changes and five ties, with a three-pointer from Warrior freshman point guard
Preston Smith giving the Orange & Black the lead for good with 49 seconds left.
Senior guard
Drew Nikolovski drilled a pair of free throws with 21.4 seconds left to put Hendrix up by three. The Vikings missed a pair of three-pointers in the final seconds and the Warriors grabbed the final rebound as time expired to come away with the victory.
For the game, Hendrix shot 45.3 percent (24-of-53) from the floor, 6-of-21 from outside and 11-of-18 at the line. Berry shot 41.7 percent (25-of-60) overall, 3-of-22 from three-point range and 9-of-20 at the stripe. The Warriors held a 40-38 rebounding edge.

John Ogle led the Warriors with 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting. He also had four rebounds and two steals.
- Nikolovski finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a career-high five steals.

Bryce Parker came off the bench to record 10 points, tying his career high, and two takeaways.

Gearen Littlefield had eight points and six boards.
- Smith finished with seven points, five boards and a pair of assists.

Berry Ntoes- Guard Alton McCloud recorded 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
- Caleb Johnson and Blake Scherrman scored 10 points each.
- Owens Jacobs had a team-leading 12 points and six rebounds off the bench.
