ATLANTA - The Hendrix College men's basketball team lost to Oglethorpe University 73-68 on the road in Southern Athletic Association Sunday afternoon.
The game was close throughout the entire 40 minutes, with the Stormy Petrels (11-10, 6-4) leading 33-29 at half. The Warriors (3-18, 2-8) took a 36-35 lead with 17:47 left in the game, but OU answered with seven straight points over the next 1:16 to go back up by six. Hendrix would get as close as three points several times throughout the rest of the contest, but OU managed to hold them off before winning by five.
For the game, the Warriors shot 33.9 percent (21-of-62) from the field, 6-of-29 from three-point range and 20-of-27 at the free throw line. The Petrels shot 43.1 percent (22-of-51) overall, 7-of-19 from outside and 22-of-32 at the line. Hendrix held a 44-33 advantage on the boards.

Aaron Steele came off the bench to score a career-high 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting. He also had a pair of steals and four rebounds.
