ATLANTA - The Hendrix College women's basketball team lost to Oglethorpe 73-65 in road Southern Athletic Association play Sunday.
With the loss, the Warriors fall to 16-5 overall and 7-3 in league play. They are now tied with Millsaps for second place, behind 8-2 Birmingham-Southern, with four games to play. The Stormy Petrels improve to 11-10 and 5-5.
Hendrix jumped out a 14-2 lead over the first 4:18 of the game, but OU went on a 12-2 run to make the game 16-14 at the end of the opening quarter. After leading 35-30 at the half, the Orange & Black expanded their lead to as many as nine in the third quarter.
The Warriors led 54-50 with 9:07 left in the game, but the Petrels went on a 16-5 run to take a 66-59 advantage with 5:31 on the clock. Hendrix managed to cut the deficit to 67-65 at the 1:23 mark. OU mad a jumper on their next possession to go back up by four. The Warriors were forced to foul in the final minute and the Petrels made four of their six free throw attempts to secure the victory.
For the game, Hendrix shot 40.4 percent (23-of-57) from the field, 6-of-24 from outside and 13-of-19 at the free throw line. Oglethorpe shot 41.7 percent (25-of-60) overall, 4-of-15 from three-point range and 19-of-30 at the stripe. The Warriors held a 39-35 rebound edge, but committed twice the turnovers of the Petrels - 16-8.
Hendrix Notes- Senior point guard
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler led all players with 22 points, 18 of which came in the first half. She also recorded eight rebounds and four assists.

Sara Dyslin recorded 17 points and nine boards.
- Junior forward
Anna King scored nine points on 4-of-4 shooting.
- Sophomore forward
Heather Prowse had six points and seven rebounds.
Oglethorpe Notes- Lauren Ransom paced OU with 14 points, seven boards and five steals.
- Emily Toomer had 13 points and four rebounds off the bench.
- Bailey Charles scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds
