ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team lost to NCAA Division II member Ouachita Baptist University 5-4 Saturday.

The Warriors (5-4) gained two points with the Tigers (2-7) being short a player. The Hendrix number two doubles tandem of junior Pratheepa Ravikumar and sophomore Laela Zaidi defeated Polina Tysmbalova and Baylee McBride 8-3.

Sophomore Sarah Nieman defeated McBride 6-4, 6-3 in number five singles.

Tied at 4-4, the match came down to the number two singles competition between Valeriya Mansvetova of OBU and Ravikumar of Hendrix. Mansvetova won the first set 6-3, and Ravikumar took the second 7-6. OBU came out on top with a 6-2 win in the third set.

Hendrix will return home to face John Brown University on Thursday.
