Warriors Stymied By Tigers 3-1

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College baseball team lost 3-1 to NCAA Division II in-state foe Ouachita Baptist University at Warrior Field Tuesday night.

The visiting Tigers (8-21) used 10 different pitchers to limi the Warriors (15-12) to seven hits. OBU picked up 12 hits against four Hendrix hurlers.

The Tigers scored the first run of the game in the second when catcher Austin White singled and later scored from second on a single to right from left fielder Drew Feuerbacher. Right fielder Victor Draijer hit a solo home run that bounced off the top of the left field fence in the top of the third to make the game 2-0.

The Warriors scored in the bottom of the fourth when sophomore second baseman Drew Judson started off with a single and moved to second on a Wyatt Hogan base hit. After a sacrifice bunt from freshman shortstop Tanner Cooper, sophomore designated hitter Matthew Lillard hit a pop up into shallow center field that was caught by the Tiger second baseman, allowing Judson to cross the plate.

OBU picked up the final run on Feuerbacher's solo home run to left that led off the seventh.

Zach Gloff (1-0) earned the win by striking out a batter in a perfect first inning. Bo Sutton earned the final out of the game to get the save. Left-handed starter Cannon Schrank (2-1) gave up seven hits, two runs, a walk and struck out four in the losing effort.
