CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College baseball team lost two extra-inning games to Millsaps College in Southern Athletic Association action at Warrior Field on Saturday.
The visiting Majors (19-18, 12-8) took game one 6-3 in 11 innings, then topped the Warriors (20-17, 12-8) in game two.
Both teams are tied for second at 12-8 in the SAA standings with just Sunday's game left. The winner of the game will earn the #2 seed and the right to host the opening rounds of the SAA Tournament beginning Friday. Birmingham-Southern has already secured the regular season title with a 17-4 record.
In the opener, Millsaps scored the first run of the game in the second on a Wes Lassere RBI single. They went up 2-0 in the eighth when left fielder Andy Page drove in Chase Callaway with a single to center. Hendrix tied it up in the bottom of the eighth on a two-run homer over the left field fence by junior left fielder
Wyatt Hogan.
The Majors managed four runs on four hits in the top of the 11th. Callaway had the big hit of the inning with a two-run single. The Warriors scored one in the bottom of the 11th when sophomore
JR McAuley scored on a sacrifice fly by junior
Harley Faye.
Chris Guerin (3-1) earned the win, allowing four hits, one run and walk with two strikeouts over three innings. Freshman
Taylor Barker (2-1) took the loss for Hendrix.
Hendrix Game 1 Notes- Hogan went hit the two-run homer and and a single to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.

Millsaps Game 1 Notes- Shortstop Drew Wray went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and a RBI.
- Lasere, Page, Callaway and Lee Ogletree each had two hits.
------------------------------------------Hendrix recorded the first run in the nigthcap when Walker led off with a double and later scored on a ground ball off the bat of Robison.
Millsaps answered with three runs in the top the third on three hits and an error. Center fielder Isaac Glenn drove in two runs with a triple.
The Warriors cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the third when junior third baseman
Spencer Summers led off with a walk, was bunted over by Leon and scored on a Hogan base knock. Hendrix took the lead in the fifth with a pair of runs. Walker plated Judson on a ground ball and Lillard knocked in Hogan with a single to right.
The Majors tied it at 4-4 with two outs in the sixth when catcher Joseph Stearns singled and scored on an Andy Page base hit.
In the top of the 10th, right fielder Brennan Ducote led off with a single to left. With two outs, second baseman Logan Patterson drove Ducote in from second in a base hit to right field.
John Wiltshire (2-2)Â earned the win for the Majors, throwing five innings or relief and only giving up a hit and two walks with a strikeout. Senior
Kyle Teachout (1-1) took the loss.
Hendrix Game 2 Notes- Lillard went 3-for-4 with a RBI.
- Summers recorded his first hits of the year, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk.
- Hogan extended his hitting streak to 14 games, tying for 10th in school history.
- Walker recorded his third double of the year.
- Saturday was the first time in program history the Warriors had played two 10-inning or longer games on the same day.
Millsaps Game 2 Notes- Glenn was 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored.
- Wray went 3-for-4 again with a RBI and a walk.
- Ducote finished 3-for-5.
Up NextHendrix and Millsaps will wrap up the series on Sunday at noon with second place and the right to host the SAA Tournament on the line.
