CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team lost to Southern Athletic Association rival Sewanee - The University of the South 9-0 at the Hendrix Tennis Courts Saturday morning.
The visiting Tigers (12-5, 2-0), who are ranked 10th in the nation, swept through doubles to start the match.
The Warriors' (6-5, 0-2) closest contest in doubles was the #1 match-up where juniors
Julia Lefler and
Lauren Mahaney lost to Kate Johnston and Bea Benavides 8-2.
In singles, Lefler lost to Christina Merchant 6-3, 6-1 in the top spot. Mahaney fell to Haley Tucker 6-3, 6-0 at number three. Freshman
Cooper Chimbel lost to Johnston 6-3, 6-0 in number six singles.
Hendrix will play their final home match of the season on Sunday against Centre College.
