CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College baseball team lost the Southern Athletic Association series finale 6-2 to Centre College at Warrior Field Sunday afternoon.
The Warriors (17-13, 11-4) were outhit by the Colonels (16-16, 5-10) 10-7 in the game. Hendrix took the first two games of the against Centre on Saturday to win their seventh consecutive weekend series.
The Colonels got a two-run homer over the right field fence by Alex Richardson in the top of the first.
Warrior sophomore second baseman
Drew Judson reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and scored on a
Wyatt Hogan base hit in the third to make the game 2-1. Hendrix tied the game in the fifth when freshman third baseman
Jorge Leon led off with a hit, moved to second on a Judson single and was bunted to third by Hogan. Freshman shortstop
Tanner Cooper followed with grounder that allowed Leon to cross the plate.
Centre broke the tie game in the eighth when Andrew Schacht, Zach Montgomery and Richardson hit consecutive doubles to start the inning, giving them a 4-2 lead.
The Colonels added two more in the ninth on a Schacht RBI single and a sac fly off the bat of Montgomery.
Aaryn Chandler (5-1) earned the win with two strikeouts and a walk over four scoreless innings of relief. Junior
Harley Faye (4-2) took the loss for the Warriors.
Hendrix Notes- Leon had two hits and scored a run.

Matthew Lillard recorded a single and a double.
- Judson had a hit, a run and a stolen base.
- Sophomore centerfield
JR McAuley and Hogan had the Warriors' other hits.
- Hogan extended his hitting streak to seven games.
Centre Notes- Richardson had a double, a home run and three RBI.
- Montgomery went 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored and a double.
- Schacht also had two hits with a double.
Up NextHendrix will host the University of the Ozarks Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
