BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Hendrix College football moved to 2-0 on the season by easily defeating Lyon College 49-14 at Pioneer Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors rolled up 568 yards of total offense on 70 plays, averaging 8.1 per play, while limiting the Scots (0-3) to 325 yards on 66 chances for a 4.9 average.
With the win, Hendrix claims the ScotZilla Trophy, the newly incorporated traveling trophy that the winner between the Warriors and Scots gets to take home every year.

Ben Luedtke with 8:41 left in the first quarter. Lyon tied it up on a three-yard run by Michael Bowles four minutes later.
The Warriors blanked the Scots 28-0 in the second quarter to take a 35-7 lead into the break. Hendrix had the only touchdown in the third quarter and scored two minutes into the fourth to go up 49-7. Lyon added the final touchdown with 10:39 left in the game.
Hendrix Notes
- Peters broke the school record with a 238.7 pass efficiency by going 21-of-26 for 371 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for a seven-yard score.
- Junior
Nate Hodapp caught five passes for a career-high 132 yards and two touchdowns.
- Senior running back
Dayton Winn recorded six carries for 39 yards and two scores.
- Freshman
Miles Thompson connected with
Dustin McNeely for a 30-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. The TD was the second of the year for McNeely.
- Luedtke finished with four catches for 88 yards and a touchdown.
- Junior safety
Kody Smith led the defense with eight tackles.
- Senior defensive end
Gray Stanton had seven tackles, including half a sack.
- Junior
Michael Kramer also had half a sack, as did
Stephen Stearman and
Tyler Clifton.
- Freshman
Paul Clayborn recorded three solo tackles and had a 56-yard interception return.
- Freshman
Chad McGonigal also recorded a pick.
Lyon Notes
- Quarterback Dwane Robinson was 11-for-24 passing for 76 yards and two interceptions and had 18 carries for 96 yards and touchdown.
- Michael Bowles rushed 15 times for 83 yards and a score.
- Braydon Pender led the Scots defense with nine tackles.
- Peyton Noland recorded 1.5 tackles for a loss.
