SHERMAN, Texas - The Hendrix College volleyball team won all four matches at the Austin College Invitational by defeating UT Tyler 25-17, 20-25, 25-18, 25-16 and Sul Ross State 25-15, 25-18, 25-16 on Saturday.
Junior right side hitter
Lauren Petrisin was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The 19th-ranked Warriors (5-3) hit .290 against the the Patriots (6-1) in the opening match. The Orange & Black recorded 54 kills, 10 aces, 53 digs and a season-high 11 blocks. UTT hit .168 with 41 kills, five aces, 55 digs and six blocks.
The Warriors dominated the Lady Lobos (1-9) by hitting .340 with 44 kills, 14 aces, 43 digs and three blocks. Their hitting percentage and aces were the most on the season. Sul Ross hit just .169 with 25 kills, two aces, 35 digs and three blocks.
Hendrix Notes vs. UT Tyler
- Petrisin knocked down 16 kills and hit .312.
- Senior outside hitter
MC Rogers had 15 kills, seven digs and three blocks.
- Junior middle blocker
Sara Dyslin had nine kills, hitting .412, with four aces and five total blocks - three of which were solo.
- Senior setter
Allison Gaia registered 28 assists and 10 digs for her first double-double of the year.
- Senior Hoyln Radack had 13 assists and three aces.
- Senior libero
Leila Matsumoto posted 16 digs.
UT Tyler Notes
- The Patriots were led on offense by Macy Harris with seven kills.
- Emily Robison led the defense with 14 digs.
- Samantha Lee had six kills and five blocks.
- Rebecca Floyd recorded 17 assists, two aces and 11 digs.
Hendrix Notes vs. Sul Ross State
- Dyslin hit .688 on 11 kills with no errors on 16 attempts.
- Petrisin hit .538 with eight kills.
- Senior middle blocker
Samantha Stockdale hit .571 with five kills.
- Freshman
Ashton Sitkowski tallied six kills and hit .600.
- Gaia finished with 26 assists.
- Sophomore setter
Amber Melcher had 12 assists and three aces
- Matsumoto led the back row with 10 digs.
Sul Ross State Notes
- Candice Hugi led the Lady Lobos with seven kills.
- Nina Sterling recorded 11 assists, two aces and seven digs.
