LA VERNE, Calif. - The 10th-ranked Hendrix College volleyball team opened the 2016 season with a pair of losses at the Pacific Coast Classic on Friday. The Warriors fell to #1 Cal Lutheran University 25-18, 25-21, 25-11 in the first match, then lost to University of La Verne on their home floor 25-20, 25-18, 25-19.
Against the topped-ranked Regals, the defending national champions, the Warriors hit .118 with 32 kills, one ace, 44 digs and four blocks. CLU hit .280 with 39 kills, seven aces, 46 digs and 8.5 blocks.
The Leopards hit .327 with 43 kills, 11 aces, 50 digs and seven blocks while Hendrix hit .229 with 38 kills, six aces, 47 digs and five blocks.

- Senior outside hitter
MC Rogers recorded nine kills and 12 digs.
- Junior middle blocker
Sara Dyslin hit .364 with five kills and three blocks.

Holyn Radack recorded 15 assists and a service ace.

Allison Gaia added 13 assists.

Katie Beard recorded a career-high 18 digs.

- Hope Stewart paced the Regals with 13 kills and had nine digs.
- Sarah Pappas hit .562 with nine kills.
- Amanda Roberts came up with seven kills and a team-high 12 digs.
- Jamie Smith recorded 32 assists.
- Monica Lundgren tallied six blocks.

- Dyslin hit .364 with 12 kills, three aces and a pair of blocks.

Lauren Petrisin hit .417 with seven kills and three blocks.
- Rogers added 11 kills, three aces and eight digs.
- Gaia registered 16 assists and nine digs, while Radack recorded 12 assists.

Leila Matsumoto also came up with nine digs.

- Cassie Thompson hit .550 with 12 kills.
- Marisa Rojo posted a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs.
- Kelsi Robinson recorded eight kills, three aces and four blocks.
- Tiffany Mancuso set 38 assists with six digs and four aces.
