BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The #20 Hendrix College volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday, defeating Birmingham-Southern College 27-25, 25-16, 25-16 then falling to #8 Emory University 21-25, 25-21, 25-15, 16-25, 15-13.

The Warriors (9-4) move to 4-0 in Southern Athletic Association play with the win over the Panthers (10-2, 3-1).

BSC led 24-22 in the first set, but the Warriors got a pair of kills and a service ace to give Hendrix the 27-25 win. The Orange & Black went on to easily win the second and third sets.

Hendrix hit .216 with 39 kills, six aces, 54 digs and eight blocks. BSC hit .056 with 32 kills, one ace, 51 digs and three blocks.

The Warriors and Eagles (10-3) split the first four sets and Hendrix took a commanding 10-3 lead in the fifth. Emory rallied back, outscoring Hendrix 12-3 the rest of the way to take the deciding set.

Hendrix hit .121 with 53 kills, four aces, 93 digs and 15 blocks. Emory hit .160 with 59 kills, six aces, 112 digs and nine blocks.

Hendrix Notes vs. Birmingham-Southern
- Rogers led the offense with 12 kills and three aces.
- Freshman outside hitter Lauren Dwyer had nine kills, two aces and 11 digs.
- Junior middle blocker Sara Dyslin had eight kills and three blocks.
- Junior Lauren Petrisin hit .412 with seven kills and four blocks.
- Senior setter Allison Gaia recorded 18 assists and senior Holyn Duyck had 15.
- Senior libero Leila Matsumoto posted 18 digs.

Birmingham-Southern Notes
- Jeneva Salter recorded 11 kills.
- Rachel Lee had 15 assists.
- Marjorie Ward came up with seven kills, 11 assists and nine digs.
- Caroline Johnson led the back row with 16 digs.

Hendrix Notes vs. Emory
- 93 digs and 15 blocks were season-highs for the Warriors
- Rogers finished with 13 kills and six digs. She now has 999 career digs.
- Dwyer came up with 15 kills and a season-best 23 digs.
- Dyslin added 11 kills and five blocks.
- Senior Samantha Stockdale had five blocks, including a career-high three solo.
- Matsumoto finished with a career-best 35 digs.
- Gaia recorded 26 assists.

- Jessica Holler hit .394 with 16 kills and four blocks.
- Kathryn Trinka had 14 kills.
- Sarah Porter recorded 29 assists.
- Andie McKinnon led the Eagles with 33 digs.
