CONWAY, Ark. - Freshman forward
Hagan Griffith rattled in the game-winning goal off the crossbar, giving Hendrix College a 3-2 overtime win over Fontbonne University in women's soccer action on Sunday.
Griffth, from Arlington, Texas, netted the goal from the left side with 3:22 left in overtime. She also scored the first goal of the game, 1:40 into the contest.
Sophomore forward
Evie Cannon gave the Warriors (2-0) a 2-0 lead in the 21st minute with Griffith hit a cross from the right and Cannon shot to the left side of the goal from six yards out.
The Griffins (1-1) scored in the 38th minute when Jacey Pate blasted a shot from 28 yards out, hit the crossbar and dropped into the goal. Pate assisted Meredith Wendt's goal in the 68th minute to tie the game.
Fontbonne outshot Hendrix 20-11 overall and 8-5 on goal. The Warriors took four corner kicks, while the Griffins had two.
