Dyslin Reaches 1,000 Point Milestone in Loss

ATLANTA - Hendrix College junior center Sara Dyslin scored her 1,000th career point in a 53-45 loss to Oglethorpe University in Southern Athletic Association women's basketball action Sunday.

Dyslin, from San Jose, Calif., recorded 19 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Warriors (9-9, 3-4). She now has exactly 1,000 career points in 63 games and is the 16th Warrior player to reach the milestone.

The Stormy Petrels (12-6, 6-1) led the whole game, including 13-6 after the first quarter and 27-17 at half. Hendrix cut the deficit to 34-28 with 1:18 left in the third quarter. OU maintained at least a seven-point lead throughout the fourth quarter.

The Warriors shot 28.8 percent (15-of-52) from the field, 3-of-17 from three-point range and 12-of-22 at the free throw line. They also recorded 44 rebounds, 10 assists, 20 turnovers and nine steals.

The Petrels shot 35.8 percent (19-of-53) overall, 4-of-14 from outside and 11-of-20 at the line with 35 rebounds, eight assists, 16 turnovers, five blocks and 10 steals.

- Dyslin pulled down eight offensive rebounds and shot 9-of-12 at the free throw line.
- Junior forward Heather Prowse had 12 points and five rebounds.
- Freshman guard Amber Turner scored six points with two steals.
- Senior guard Hailey Bode recorded four points, three rebounds, three steals and a career-high six assists.
- Junior center Madison Martin had four points and three rebounds.

Oglethorpe Notes
- Lauren Ransom led the Petrels with 17 points to go with six rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
- Jada Triplett had 12 points.
- Bailey Charles recorded eight points, four boards and two assists.
- Madi Foltz recorded six points and six rebounds.
- Alexandria Brown had eight boards.
