CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball picked up their second straight Southern Athletic Association win at home, easily defeating Oglethorpe University 79-58 Sunday.
The Warriors (11-9, 5-4) shot 80 percent (8-of-10), while the Stormy Petrels (12-8, 6-3) managed just 10.5 percent (2-of-19) in the first quarter, giving the hosts a 25-8 lead. The Orange & Black outscored OU 12-1 in second quarter for a 37-9 halftime advantage.
Hendrix pushed their lead to as many as 37 late in the third quarter, but Oglethorpe outscored them 49-42 in the second half.
The Warriors shot 50 percent (27-of-54) from the field for the game, 6-of-16 from three-point range and 19-of-30 from the free throw line. They also had 55 rebounds, 22 assists, 34 turnovers, seven steals and 12 blocks, tied for the fourth most in program history.
The Petrels shot 29.7 percent (17-of-82) overall, 5-of-21 from outside and 19-of-29 at the line with 47 rebounds, eight assists, six blocks and 22 steals.

- Junior center
Madison Martin scored a career-high 27 points on 12-of-16 shooting. She also had nine rebounds and a career-high five blocks.
- Junior center Sara Dylsin came up with 16 points, 14 boards and two steals.
- Senior guard
Hailey Bode netted 11 points with five rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
- Junior forward
Heather Prowse recorded seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
- Freshman guard registered six points, a season-high six boards and seven assists.
- Freshman
Jordan Tibbits also had six points with four assists and two blocks.
Oglethorpe Notes
- Brooke Simpson led the Petrels with 11 points and four steals.
- Bailey Charles had seven points, four rebounds and three steals.
