RICHARDSON, Texas - The Hendrix College men's basketball team defeated the University of Texas at Dallas 72-65 Tuesday night.
The Warriors (4-7) built a 15-point lead in the first half and led 39-26 at the break. Hendrix shot a blistering 57.1 percent (16-of-28) from the field, and was 6-of-12 from three-point range in the opening period.
The Orange & Black led 53-34 with 13:02 left, but the Comets (2-9) went on a 31-16 run to make the game 69-65 with 32 seconds remaining. The Warriors managed the last three points of the game, thanks to a free throw from freshman guard
Jacob Link and a pair of free throws from senior guard
Hank Aldous.
For the game, the Warriors shot 54.7 percent (29-of-53) from the field, 7-of-16 from outside and 7-of-15 from the line with 42 rebounds, 20 assists, 11 turnovers, two blocks and three steals. UTD shot 31.9 percent (22-of-69) overall, 8-of-31 from three-point range and 13-of-18 at the line with 38 boards, 12 assists, four turnovers, three blocks and five steals.

Aaron Steele scored a season-high 16 points off the bench, shooting 6-of-7 from the field and 4-of-4 from three-point territory.

Gearen Littlefield recorded his second double-double of the year with 14 points, 11 boards and two blocks.
- Aldous had eight points, six rebounds and three assists.
