Hendrix Falls to Millsaps

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team suffered a 78-74 loss to Millsaps College in Southern Athletic Association play at Grove Gymnasium Friday night. 

The visiting Majors (8-5, 1-1) finished the first quarter with a 20-13 lead and led 43-34 at half. The Warriors (7-6, 1-1) outscored the visitors 33-16 in the third quarter to take a 67-59 lead. Millsaps fought back to tie the game 73-73 with 2:29 left then scored the next five points to eventually win 78-74. Millsaps outscored Hendrix 19-7 in the final frame. 

For the game, Hendrix shot 38 percent (27-of-71) from the floor, 3-of-21 from three-point range and 17-of-22 at the line. They also had 46 rebounds, 11 assists, 17 turnovers, seven blocks and six steals. Millsaps shot 43.6 percent (24-of-55) from the field, 4-of-15 from outside and 26-of-37 at the stripe with 37 boards, 13 assists, 16 turnovers, three blocks and 11 steals. 

Hendrix Notes
- Junior center Sara Dyslin paced the Warriors with her eighth double-double of the year, coming up with 21 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks.
- Junior center Madison Martin recorded her third double-double of the year with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
- Senior guard Hailey Bode had 16 points and three assists.
- Junior forward Heather Prowse registered 11 points, seven boards and two blocks.
- Freshman guard Amber Turner recorded seven points, three assists, two steals and a pair of blocks.
- Freshman guard Jordan Tibbits had five points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Millsaps Notes
- Kala-Jewell Freeman had 27 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks and four steals.
- Braxton Thomas added 18 points, five boards, five assists and three steals.
- Megan Donaldson had 11 points.
- Kim Klunk recorded nine points and five rebounds.

Hendrix will host Birmingham-Southern College in conference play on Sunday at 1 p.m.
