Sewanee, TN - The Hendrix College volleyball team traveled to face the Tigers of Sewanee in a SAA Conference match-up on Sunday afternoon. Looking to avenge a loss to them from earlier in the season, Hendrix did just that with strong defense and timely hitting, defeating Sewanee 3-1 (25-21, 19-25, 25-13, 25-13).

Set number one started with the Warriors jumping out early and making their presence known with a set one win.

After dropping the second set, the Warriors came out with urgency in set number three. Kills by Bradi Ryan and Lauren Petrisin got the Warriors out to an early 9-3 lead. Hendrix would continue to pull away taking the set three victory 25-13.

The fourth set turned what was already a fantastic match into an instant classic. The largest lead by HC in the fourth set was 14, when the Warriors took a 24-10 lead on a attacking error. Hendrix would take the set four and game win on a kill from Maddie Tovar to make it 25-13, 3-1.

Offensively, Ryan led the Warriors with an impressive 15 kills. Petrisin added 8 kills helping Hendrix avenge the early season defeat to Sewanee. Four different Warriors earned double-digit digs, with sophomore Lauren Dwyer leading the way with 27. Hannah Tackett also added seven blocks on the defensive side of the net.

Hendrix will face the Majors of Millsaps on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 pm on the road.
