Memphis, TN -Â The Hendrix College women's soccer team opened up play in the SAA Conference Tournament on Saturday, defeating Rhodes in a shootout in 2OT to advance to the semifinals. Â
The game's first goal came in the 38' from Rhodes putting the Lynx up 1-0.
Zoe Corwyn would tie the game up with a goal in the 62' that came off of an assist from
Hagan Griffith. The tie would hold up the rest of the way as Hendrix goalkeeper
Jordan Rausch had a great game in net, making 9 saves. The game would then go into two overtime periods before forcing a shootout. HC would win the shootout 4-1 and had the goals scored byÂ

"I'm really really happy for the girls," said Head Coach
Jeff Trimble. "It was a tough game as we knew it would be. This senior group has done a lot for the program. It was awesome to see them have a key part of this game. We look forward to advancing in the conference tournament in doing some good things next week."
Rhodes held an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks and was able to out shoot Hendrix 26-19 on the day but couldn't get much past the Hendrix defense which was led by senior Rausch.
The Warriors return to action on Friday in the SAA Conference semifinals. Â
