Conway, AR - The Hendrix Women's Soccer team hosted Delta State Tuesday night in a non-conference match-up with the Warriors looking to improve their record as they entered play 5-5 overall.

The Statesmen struck first with a goal towards the end of the first half to take the 1-0 lead. 

After half-time Hendrix would strike back courtesy of Sydney Blevins (53'), who tied the game up 1-1. Shortly after, the Statesmen struck again off of an own goal in the 64'. This would be the last goal of the game as DSU would take the 2-1 victory.

"I am very proud of how our girls played tonight," said Head Coach Jeff Trimble. "The weather certainly played a factor for both teams. It was nice to respond in the second half and tie the game up. It just was unfortunate that we lost the game on a deflection goal. I felt like Delta State played well and was well coached. Once again I was very proud of how hard we played."

Jordan Rausch had three saves on the day.   

The Warriors will be back in action Friday when they take on the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe at Warrior field.
